Preemptive immune intelligence, powered by AI and wearables

About the client
The Challenge
The peer-reviewed Lancet Digital Health study validated Sensifai's science. They approached Light-it to bring to life the app and provider portal needed to deliver the care they knew was possible.

The Solution
Light-it built the product layer around EarlyCue™: a device-agnostic patient app and a companion provider portal. The app pairs a daily check-in with wearable biometric data to generate a personalized inflammation score patients can check each morning. The portal turns those scores into real-time alerts, flagging at-risk patients allowing them to access care in an early stage. The architecture works with any wearable brand and can be used for any clinical indication that involves immune activity and inflammation.
The Process
We began by mapping Sensifai's clinical model in full: the underlying research, the data assets already in place, and the manual workflows clinicians relied on to close the gaps. That work scoped the product’s roadmap: the patient app and provider portal that could validate the wearable-to-prediction pipeline end to end.
Moving from wireframes to high-fidelity design, the focus was translating a clinical inflammation score into two experiences: a simple, empowering patient view and an actionable provider view that fit existing workflows. AI-assisted design tools sped up iteration, helping the team test interaction models before committing to a final interface.
The engineering team built the wearable integrations, prediction pipeline, and both interfaces on compressed timelines, using AI-assisted code generation to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality. Given the clinical stakes, QA combined automated testing at scale with manual validation of every component tied to a clinical decision.

Why it matters
Immune activity is the most important health signal nobody measures. Inflammation-driven diseases cause about a third of the global disease burden and more than half of all deaths. Yet immune activity is still tracked through blood tests: invasive, episodic, and usually done only after symptoms appear.
By then it's often too late. For the 700 million people living with chronic lung disease, heart failure, or weakened immunity, a missed flare can mean a hospital stay costing around $20K.
Sensifai built the smoke detector. EarlyCue™ is the first clinically validated platform to detect immune responses from standard wearable data, before symptoms appear and without a blood test. Across two clinical studies, it caught 90% of cases early, compared with about 60% caught late through standard symptom-based care.
The minds behind the mission
Founded by Drs. Amir Hadid, Emily McDonald, and Dennis Jensen as a spin-off from McGill University, the company was built on the vision that inflammation shouldn't be caught after a crisis hits. It should be caught before, using the wearables people already wear every day.
Light-it partnered with Sensifai to turn that vision into a working product, building the app and provider portal that carry the clinical model into people's daily lives. Together, Sensifai and Light-it are shifting treatment earlier, preventing hospitalizations, and protecting the most vulnerable.
