Head of AI

As Head of AI, you will lead our team of AI Engineers and own the technical direction of AI at Light-it. This is a hands-on leadership role. At Light-it, our managers are expected to lead people and processes while remaining close to the technology. You should be equally comfortable defining an AI architecture, writing production code, reviewing an evaluation framework, talking to a client, and helping an engineer grow. Your team will operate across three main areas: Client Projects: Design and build production AI systems for healthcare companies, working directly with clients and their stakeholders. Innovation Lab: Explore emerging technologies, rapidly prototype new ideas, validate use cases, and help turn promising experiments into products or new capabilities. AI-Native Engineering: Help evolve how Light-it builds software by developing our internal engineering harness, agentic workflows, routines, tools, and infrastructure that allow our teams to work more effectively with AI.
